Enter the width and offset of the wheels on your vehicle now, then the width and offset of the wheels you are thinking about. The calculator shows how much the inside edge moves toward or away from the suspension, and how much the outside edge moves toward or away from the fender.
A worked example
Going from an 8 inch wide wheel with a +35 mm offset to a 9 inch wide wheel with a +20 mm offset: the inside edge ends up with about 2 mm more room, and the outside edge sits about 28 mm further out.
Common questions
What is wheel offset?
Offset is the distance from the wheel's mounting surface to the centreline of the wheel, measured in millimetres. It can be positive, negative or zero.
What does a higher or lower offset do?
A higher positive offset sits the wheel further inward, toward the suspension. A lower or more negative offset pushes the wheel further out, toward the fender.
Does wheel width matter too?
Yes. A wider wheel adds half of the extra width to each side, so it moves closer to the suspension and further out at the same time unless the offset changes as well.
Does the calculator tell me if a wheel will fit?
