ATV and side-by-side tire sizes are written differently from truck and car sizes. Once you know what the three numbers mean, they are easy to read.
The three numbers
Take 27x9.00-12:
- 27 is the overall height of the tire in inches.
- 9.00 is the width of the tire in inches.
- 12 is the rim diameter in inches.
The dash and the R
A dash before the rim size, as in 27x9.00-12, marks a bias-ply tire. An R in that spot, as in 30x10.00R15, marks a radial tire.
Ply rating
Our ATV tire listings show the ply rating in the name, such as 6 Ply or 8 Ply.
Check the front and the rear
Many machines run a narrower tire on the front than on the rear, so read the size off both before you order.
